Senior Technician (Service Manager)

Tidewater Communications is currently seeking an experienced, energetic and skilled individual to work as a Senior Service Technician for the Hampton Roads area.  We require a self starter that performs a variety of tasks to facilitate modification, repair, maintenance, and installation of communications systems, equipment, parts and accessories.

Specific Job Duties: Candidates must have capabilities with installation/repair and maintenance of antenna systems, base, mobile and portable radio systems, battery back-up systems, remote controls and repeaters.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the following consoles is a plus: Centracom GoldElite, MCC 5500/7500.
  • Experience programming and component level troubleshooting of Two-Way Radios.
  • Experience with dispatch consoles, paging infrastructure and trunked radio systems.
  • Mobile installation experience
  • Ability to program, troubleshoot and perform system diagnostics on cabling, connectors and system optimization skills
  • FCC, FICA, or NARTE industry license is a plus
  • At least 4 years experience in the electronics field
  • CET/ETA Certification and or ability to secure within 3 months of employment.
  • Problem solving skills to quickly troubleshoot and resolve critical equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of audio accessories and digital (MotoTrbo) products.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and fellow employees and work without direct supervision.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
  • Self-starter eager to produce results that exceed customer expectations.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and customers.
  • Clean driving record and a valid drivers’ license.
